Paths
This is a watercolour painting on eco-paper and its 'working title' is:
To draw a trefoil start with the unknot. The design of the image includes a representation of the unknot - the surrounding circle - and of a 'left over right' trefoil. It also has another knot, drawn in the Celtic style* threading through the trefoil. This second knot was stimulated by one of A's drawings that she did during our first meeting. I wanted to represent in this artwork something of A's patient and systematic approach as well as her imagination and affinity with pattern, shape and form. *Bain, George (1951) Celtic Art: the methods of construction. This is another watercolour that started with a labyrinth and has other surrounding colours. Watercolours have been chosen as the pigment medium for all of the artworks based on A.'s communication, as she said she was a keen watercolour painter herself.
The title is
A planet, a path, you star!
A labyrinth forms a path that leads to a 'centre' without any distracting maze-like features; while walking a labyrinth qualities of faith, ability to risk and steadiness are developed. Sounds a bit like doing maths!

This is
A.'s boat
which is made of watercolour paint on eco paper which has then been cut and clipped or glued to make the boat shape.
The image shows the boat without things in it for use during its journey - participants at exhibitions have been/will be invited to put something inside A's boat that will be helpful and sustaining as it goes on its travels.
